Gypsy Nation for vintage virgins
I confess, vintage shopping was never really my thing. But after working with sister duo @danielleasnyder and @jodiesnydermorel, who effortlessly mix vintage finds with current pieces, I felt inspired. But it wasn't until I met the queen collector @iamamyabrams that I felt ready to step out of my fashion comfort zone and let the hunt begin. But my journey has only had one stop as I found everything I wanted in the summer of 2016 when Amy introduced me to Martha of @gypsynationvintage.
After telling her how much I loved Clare Waight Keller's most recent collection of gypsy inspired maxi dresses for Chloe, Martha took a minute to size me up and then pulled out a 1970's Indian block printed gauze dress in various shades of blue and purple. It was exactly what I wanted and I bought the dress on the spot.

Later in the summer I scored a black leather, mid-length skirt from the 80's and an Indian wrap skirt that reminded me of the ones my mother and aunt used to rock in the late 70's. All three pieces have become wardrobe staples and I look forward to chasing the vintage high again this summer when Martha brings her collection to the new @artistsandfleas location in SoHo. Let the games begin!
TELL: Having a good tailor is key when it comes to scoring the perfect vintage pieces. My go-to is Pak's Tailor at 244 E 71st Street but I've been told Martha has a kick-ass tailor who is well-versed in vintage fabrics.
